Occupational therapy can help with a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, mental health conditions, and chronic pain.
During your first occupational therapy session, you can expect to undergo an evaluation that includes an assessment of your abilities and limitations. Your therapist will work with you to identify your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and preferences.
The length of occupational therapy treatment depends on the individual and their specific needs. Some individuals may require short-term therapy, while others may require ongoing therapy to manage their condition and maintain their level of function. Your therapist will work with you to determine the appropriate length of treatment for your needs.
Sovereign Healthcare Services, Inc. reserves the right to charge a fee of the treatment session for any appointment that is not kept or not cancelled by giving 24 hours notice. Unforeseen circumstances are anticipated and will be handled on a case by case basis. If you plan to dismiss your child or yourself from therapy, a 2-week notification is REQUIRED unless otherwise agreed upon. Should you choose to end treatment without two-week notification, you will be responsible for paying for all services that would have been provided in those two weeks. Upon signature on intake forms notifies Sovereign Healthcare Services, Inc. that I agree to the above cancellation and termination policies.
Missed Visits/Reschedule
We understand circumstances may happen. Sovereign Healthcare Services, Inc is unable to hold appointment without an agreed upon plan. Sovereign Healthcare Services will attempt to reschedule any missed visits as schedule permits.
A No show for evaluation appointments will result in discharge from facility.

Two consecutive no-shows will result in discharge from facility.
Prior Authorization and Attendance
Most services are approved by a prior authorization (PAs) process from insurance. Most PAs are 24 visits or 1x/week for 6 months. Consistent missed appointments or missing more than 6 appointments within a 6 month prior authorization period will be reviewed monthly to determine continuation of services or services will be flexed.
A flex scheduling requires caregiver/parent to call in weekly to schedule appointments based on availability and not guaranteed.
